First, there are 2 types of engraving. Line and fill. An example of line is highlighted in blue while an example of fill is in green. To help lines show better they are done in pairs. Each line is actually 2 lines .5 mm away from each other. Fill takes out the entire section of what is engraved. Each has an advantage. Lines are faster and highlight an area leaving the wood to show more. Fill takes a layer of wood down and darkens the surface a bit in the process.

When engraving cutting boards either end or edge it is recommended to just engrave the sides. Usually you never want to cut on a surface that has been engraved due to damage while in use. However we will engrave the main surface as well. Notably, customers have asked for this since they only ever wanted to cut on the one side and use the other as a display for their counter.

Charcuterie boards aren’t typically used for cutting so there are no restrictions that harbor the full use of the boards. Charcuterie boards are meant to be fun, display your interests , or displayed in your kitchen for decoration.

When you select an engraving option you will be emailed shortly with a few questions to see what you are looking for. We have a few basic styles to choose from seen below. Once we have an idea of what you are looking for we will email you a final picture for approval. Once accepted the board will be worked on. Due to many options boards are kept in there most basic form and begin the finishing process which can take up to a few weeks for completion.
